National standard of the units of kerma in air and of kerma rate in air

The standard is produced and is in operation since 2001


Standard composition:

  • dosage meter UNIDOS 1001 with an ionization chamber M30001;
  • dosage meter UNIDOS with ionization chambers M32002 and M32003;
  • ionization chamber for x-ray measurements BABYLINE-88;
  • x-ray apparatus PANTAK 320HF with a set of filters of «NARROW SPECTRUM» series according to standards ISO 4037 and a set of lead collimators;
  • barometers;
  • thermometer ТЛ-4;
  • humidity meter 5804;
  • measuring buggy with accessories;
  • laser systems of positioning;
  • irradiation machine OB-2;
  • irradiation machine OB-6;
  • panoramic irradiator OB-34;
  • phantom MR 5101-T with an adaptor MR 5101A-1;
  • control source of strontium-90 for chamber М30001;
  • control source of strontium-90 for chambers М32002 and М32003;
  • the system of video camera surveillance;
  • light warning system indicating activation of irradiation source;
  • contact blocking system of the sources of irradiation;
  • the system of blocking sources of irradiation with the help of infrared barriers;
  • conditioning systems and the system of temperature control;
  • uninterruptible power supply unit 1 kVA

Metrological characteristics:

  • range of kerma in the air – 7•10–9 - 3•106 Gray;
  • range of kerma rate in the air – 7•10–10 - 45 Gray/s;
  • range of photonic energy irradiation – 33 - 1250 keV;
  • value of expanded uncertainty of kerma rate measurement in the air – 2,2 - 7,0 %;
  • долговременная нестабильность за год составляет не более 0,3 %

BelGIM calibration and measurement capabilities (СМС) in the field of ionization radiation are included into Attachment С of the Agreement on mutual recognition of national standards, calibration and measurement certificates (CIPM MRA) and published on International Bureau of Weights and Measures website
